From the village the route to caves is a small 45 min to an hour hike.
There are stair steps at regular intervals making the hike quite easy and fun.

There are divisions and subdivisions inside each large caves which look quite raw even though the outside is well carved.
An earthquake in the early 1900s destroyed the entrance and prayer hall making the caves look raw.
There’s a large buddhist stupa placed in one of the caves in a huge prayer hall. You can witness the destruction these well carved caves had.

Try keeping the place clean as this is an ancient monument and must be preserved.

Total journey may be covered in 5-6 hours from the outskirts of Mumbai to the village to the caves and back.
